Weird black sludge backing up in the bathroom sink all the time.
Pool room was COLD, like a refrigerator. And they concreted over the hot tub.
Bed slept okay.
Downstairs bar is kind of nice.
Riverfront view rooms have a nice view.
You can tell this ***used to be*** a really nice hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Renaissance Portsmouth–Norfolk Waterfront. The location surprised me in the best way. Portsmouth itself is a hidden little gem, and the view across the water toward Norfolk is genuinely beautiful.
The bar was a highlight of my stay. The bartender was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to recommend a couple of great local spots. What really stood out was that when I came back later, she followed up...
